Selecting window treatments for your home can be a daunting task if you’re not familiar with the process.
Today, there are just as many options for window coverings as there are places to buy the window coverings. There are hundreds of types of blinds, shutters, drapes, and shades with each having dozens of options that may include things like opacity, method of operation, texture, color, and size.
Within these many options are a wide range of prices depending on what you want for the long term, so it’s important that you consult with an interior designer before investing on a window treatment that you’re not happy with.
We’re here to help.
Choosing which window coverings will work best for your home will depend on your needs. You want to make sure that the look you’re going for will make for an enjoyable environment for years to come.
When you work with a professional firm like FaGalde Interior Design, you get access to not only our experience of understanding the unique needs of your home, but our ability to apply a truly pleasing aesthetic environment for your home.
A client of ours wanted window coverings for their formal dining room that has sun exposure for many hours a day. They sought out quotes for the same window blinds from two companies; a home improvement store and a company that sells blinds out of a van.
Both provided free estimates for our client.
Later on, the client came to us requesting a quote on the same product that the previous companies had estimated on. In this particular case, the blinds they estimated were not the type of product that was best for the environment. The blinds didn’t block any of the dangerous UV rays from the sun during the day when they wanted to allow sunshine in the room.
Instead, after a short consultation, we recommended a soft window treatment that had UV protection in the lining to allow it to be open during the day, but still protect the furniture and flooring.
Another client of ours presented us with a window covering challenge in their bedroom. One of the homeowners was a light sleeper and had trouble getting enough sleep during the summer time when the sun would rise early.
To accommodate this situation, we recommended a window covering that had an optional black out lining to block all of the sunlight from entering the bedroom.
FaGalde Interior Design has been helping our clients solve their window covering needs for over 10 years. Each home has unique needs and each homeowner has a unique style—and it’s our goal to make the two match.
We achieve this harmony by spending time with each of our clients to discover their needs and learn about their style before recommending any window treatments.
